What’s The Movie? App Review

What’s The Movie? is another free movie trivia game, though there’s nothing particularly special about this one.

What’s The Movie? first allows players to challenge random opponents or people from their Facebook list of friends, and then proceeds to play a snippet of a movie while showing four different movie titles. Speed and correctness are scored, and the person with the highest score by game’s end wins. While the game does look nice, What’s The Movie? suffers from a horrible case of having a lot of bugs.

Among the most frequent bugs are ones that make it borderline impossible to play: 1) Sometimes the game doesn’t play the videos at all. Sometimes it just sits there on a black screen with four movie titles waiting for players to have a 25% change at guessing correctly. 2) Sometimes the game plays a video, and none of the movie titles match up with the clip. This happened to us, for instance, when the clip was of the most recent Twilight entry – yet none of the movie titles had anything to do with Twilight at all. As if that weren’t enough, when we randomly guessed…we got it right.

If the creators of What’s The Movie? fixed the bugs, we’re sure this could make for a great game.
