In late August, 505 Games released an iOS version of the popular game! In this world-building game, you customize an avatar and then get started mining resources and building your village. As the day wears on and night approaches, you better get inside to avoid the outdoor predators like zombies! The game is complex, there are many worlds and many details so you're going to need a little help getting started! Keep reading for a walkthrough of playing Terraria on mobile, for cheats, tips and more! 1. Get to Know Steve Steve, your guide, is a Non-Playable Character (or NPC) and he is full of helpful hints when you first start playing. Tap him to get hints, tips on where and when to dig up resources. Once you've built your shelter (#3), stick Steve in there--he tends to wander.
- Gather resources to build a shelter
Select an axe and begin chopping down wood. When you spot green slime approaching, select the sword to kill it and then pick up the remnants. You'll need wood and slime to build your shelter. Use the first 10 pieces of wood you collect to build a workbench. 3. Get to Know Your Inventory Any item you pick up will be stored in your inventory (the four icons at the top of your screen). While you can have more than five items, only five at a time can be used. If you need to use an item that is not one of your four, tap the ellipses, you can then drag and drop to rearrange your inventory. Any time you pick up an item, it will be stored here. 4. Build Your Shelter Use the pickaxe to level the ground, then dig down so your home is slightly lower. Your home will need a background wall, two walls and a ceiling. Once you've built the basic structure, dig out the bottom three tiles on one wall to add a door (so you have easy access in and out). To make a door, remove 3 blocks from a wall, open your inventory, click the anvil and work bench and then the "door" (it will cost you 6 wood), then tap craft. Once you've made the door, Make your home tall to keep nighttime beasts out. Remember: deep in the ground and tall. Also, build your home close to your original spawn point--because if you die, you'll return to the same spot where you first spawned.

5. Get slime Combine wood and slime to make torches. Set the torches in your shelter so you'll have a way to see at night. 6. Build a Furnace A furnace, like a torch, is essential to your home, you can use it to melt items, to make copper and iron and to craft stronger items. In order to make one, you're going to need to get stones. But don't worry--it's easy in Terraria. Use your pickaxe and go outside of your shelter, you'll be able to find stones all over the ground service. Gather up 20 blocks and take them to your workbench and you'll be able to build your furnace. 7. Dig Up Iron! Iron looks a lot like stone, so you'll need to keep a keen eye out. It's a little darker, slightly browner and sparkles in the sunlight. To find iron, you'll have to dig underground (with your mining axe). Once you collect iron, you can melt it in your furnace and build an anvil in your house. The anvil can then be used to make a new pickaxe and a broadsword. 8. Start Mining and Keep Mining! After you get a handle on getting iron, keep using your mining axe to dig around for high quality ores--like copper and gold. These will be ideal for building new items later.
9. Explore the Underworld Under your cozy village there is an underworld. In this lava-filled-hell-like environment there are a bunch of resources! It's going to take time, at first, to use your mining axe to get down there but keep digging! Keep a torch with you in your top 4 items so you can see what you're doing. Also, keep a sword stocked so that you can defend yourself from underground creatures like earthworms! Once you reach the underworld, you'll be able to build a Hellevator (remember, once you do, to put water at the bottom so if you go down, you won't be injured). 10. Collect Falling Stars Collect Fallen Stars (they tend to happen around nightfall), they let you make Mana Crystals to raise your Mana (10 falling stars helps raise your Mana by 20). Mana is magical energy--or the energy you need to wield certain magical weapons. 11. Build More Shelters In order to get the most out of Terraria, you're going to need to build multiple shelters. Why? To bring in more characters to your village. Remember, you're building a world so you don't want to be all alone!
