Have you ever met someone, hit it off, talked about work and non-work things, and then be in the dilemma on how you will exchange contact information? Deliberate on whether to give them your work email address or your business card or cell number? What if you give them your twitter handle and they give you their email? That would be really awkward. The founders of Humin have released a new application that can allow you to share your contact information by tapping on your phone. This new application known as Knock Knock and it is free on both Android and Apple devices.
This application will allow users to connect directly with a new user by knocking on their own phone twice. Users will be able to choose the information that they would want to share and with whom ranging from email addresses to phone numbers, Instagram to twitter handles and much more. Groups can also be connected by one person opening the application and everyone else knocking twice on their phone in order to connect with everyone else in the group. You can choose to give one person in the group your email address and another person your Instagram username.
Knock knock also allows you to chat within the application either as an individual or as a group. This application also has a feature that helps you share location. When you log in into the application, you can be able to see anyone else who is near your and at the same time broadcasting your location to other users. Knock knock is currently free but down the line there will be a premium version that will come with additional services that you will be able to access for a fee. Knock knock enables to you to share your contact information with other people data free and data entry free.
There was another application by Google known as Bump that allowed people to share files exchange contact information by tapping their phones against each other but was later shut down. Knock knock however feels like they can make it in the industry because Bump was basically a digital replacement of business cards while Knock Knock is about facilitating smart social networking. Knock Knock will be much advantageous than Bump because this is an application that will remind you how and why you know people and when they are close nearby.
