Jeopardy! Platinum is the official Sony release of the classic Jeopardy trivia show. Unlike many other Jeopardy knockoffs, however, this one is not free and will cost players $1.99 to play.
That said, it is a fairly accurate mobile version of the show. Players can customize their characters (to a point), and even write their names to show up on the pedestals like they do on the show. Unlike the show, though, Jeopardy! Platinum is a multiple choice kind of game – rather than have players randomly guess at answers by filling them in themselves, they get to choose from four options.
Similar to Jeopardy, there are three rounds: Jeopardy, Double Jeopardy, and Final Jeopardy. The categories are scattered and generally different from one another (though we did experience two different Shakespeare categories in the same round), and there are Double Jeopardy tiles hidden around Jeopardy! Platinum.
All in all, not a bad game. Maybe not worth the $1.99, but if it ever went on sale for $0.99, we’d say spring for the purchase.
