A sequel to what seemed to be an attempt to replace Angry Birds, Early Bird and Friends comes as an answer to the many spin-off games Angry Birds produced (games like Angry Birds Space, Rio, and Star Wars). The big difference between the original Early Bird and this one? More birds.
The mechanics of Early Bird and Friends remain largely the same as the original Early Bird. The player swipes their finger across the screen to launch the birds towards a target, all while collecting bees for extra points. Upon landing on the target, the bird will
peck into the ground and remove a worm from the target. The main blue bird is the first bird to be used, followed then by a bird that cannot fly, a bird that flies and rolls, and then a divebombing eagle.
The bird that cannot fly rolls with the swipe of a finger. The bird that rolls and flies requires clever multitasking of swiping to direct it to the target. The eagle, perhaps the best bird, flies the furthest with a single swipe and requires a swift downswipe to make it crash on the target.
As stated earlier, Early Bird and Friends uses the same mechanics as its predecessor for the most part and adds – if anything – a few new birds to play with.
