- Upgrades
The mission guide provided in-game is great! Don't feel wary about taking their suggestions. The guide will map out which upgrades you should add to which firearms. - Lose Trophy Hunts
Sometimes, you'll be faced with an objective that's too tough to accomplish without a better gun. The best way to rack up hunter bucks is to lose Trophy Hunts. You earn about 1/5 the amount of bucks for losing a round but in Trophy Hunting stages, this is still a sizeable amount of cash. - Infrared all the way
Upgrade to Infrared as soon as you can--even if you don't need to. It is a critical tool! Between making it easier to spot an animal in a darker environment to showing the organs of the animals (vital for organ-shot specific missions). When you upgrade your infrared, it also increases the battery charge life (meaning less time between recharges)
- Earn Free Gold!
If you go in store, Glu offers a lot of options for earning gold that don't require you to shell out any cash (or a credit card!). Complete the tapjoy offers, watch advertisement videos and soon you'll be eligible for amazing bonuses and be able to buy whatever weapon you want. Pro-tip: If you watch all the ads they offer, shut down the app and reopen it. There will be new videos available for you!
- Animal Call
There is an item you can nab for free (for a few uses, anyway) called Animal Call. If you are struggling with a mission but want to preserve your progress, activate Animal Call. Your mission will restart but it'll keep the kills you got in an earlier hunt. Keep this for only the most difficult missions since only get a few for free before you'll have to shell out gold to get more.
- Big Predators
After you've taken down some deer, wolverines and wolves, you'll be shooting down bears in no time! Unlike the mild-mannered deer, some bigger predators get angry when you shoot them. Make sure to upgrade all your weaponry before taking on missions involving bigger predators (especially including your infrared) because these beasts will start charging at you if you miss too many shots.
- Think Ahead
There are a total of six rifles you can buy in Deer Hunter 2014 (two per region) and they're a necessity for passing stages and fulfilling objectives. STart saving up and planning for your region 2 gun while you're still in region 1, etc. With a little forethought, you'll be able to blow through regions and earn the bucks for upgrades much faster.
