The categories vary from level to level. Things in space, world currency and rental car agencies are all included in the mix. You're given three categories to solve. You're also left with one category of excess items. These excess items are the Red Herrings, hence the name of the game. If you're having a trouble with a level, fear not. In the early levels, you should have no problem breezing through the levels without having to use a hint. However, as the game goes on, it throws curveballs your way. It introduces a word with two different meanings. These may fit into more than one category. It also may not fit into any of the categories at all. Overall, the game is very well built. There are little to no mechanical errors. It offers three different difficulty levels, just in case you find yourself stuck. The most frustrating thing about the game is not the mechanics or glitches. It is their attempt to be clever by using homophones. For example, a word may fit into a category but it's actually the other definition. This isn't clever it's more of an annoyance. Other than that minor issue, Red Herring is a fun mobile game.
