You’re ahead of the curve. Logo quizzes? You know them all. You can guess what any 4 pics have in common in your sleep. You’re looking for the next big thing.
Enter PicToWord! Put your brain to work in this simple, yet intriguing new word game. Decipher what two pictures, put together, are supposed to spell. Guess it right, and you win!
Honestly, it’s not all that easy. If you craved something a little more challenging than 4 Pics 1 Word, this is definitely up your alley. You’ll have to think outside the box to get it to make sense, since homonyms are all over this game. Oh, and earning coins– pretty difficult. You get 2 coins a turn, and unless you breeze through it, you’ll end up spending on those power-ups faster than you think.
Critiques? The game moves pretty slow. Changing between screens, getting points, and loading the pictures/letters isn’t as instant as the gaming generation is used to. And, like I’ve said, this may take you more than 5 seconds per level (unlike some other similar games).
Overall, PicToWord: 2 Pics, What’s The Word? is definitely a different twist on the What’s The Word phenomenon. Expect to use a little more brain power and spend some time with 2 Pics, instead of waiting constantly for the next update.
Some tips that may be useful:
- Find the word before you start. See what words you can make out of the letters they give you before struggling to piece together picture and letters. If it’s a long word, chances are, it’ll be the only word you can make.
- Synonyms are your friend. Just because it’s a picture of a cloud, it doesn’t necessarily mean that is what they’re trying to get at. Air, sky, open, blue, and white would all be acceptable options to cloud. A fire could be also mean hot. Think about it.
- Use your powerups! Sure, they’re expensive, especially when there are limited options (read: in game purchases) to obtaining more. But if you’re really stuck, and you’ve got some extra coins, revealing a letter definitely couldn’t hurt.
