What’s Pandemic 2.5 all about?
Having grown up being taught that disease is corrupt and deadly, it is time now to forget all you have learned and step over to the dark side. Channel your inner Dr. Evil as Pandemic 2.5 releases the latest version of it’s addictive game and you, the Villain, attempt to spread an evolving and fatal disease to all four corner of the globe. You can choose from three levels at the beginning of Pandemic 2.5, but be warned that if you are new to this game then your disease won’t harm a fly on the hardest level. We advise you to experiment on the easiest level until you’ve got to grips with all the tools, techniques and functions of the Pandemic 2.5 app.
How does Pandemic 2.5 work?
Before you attempt to recreate Outbreak Part 3 and take out every living soul on this planet, you must first create your disease. It may be not an everyday request, but it is one which becomes highly (and worryingly) addictive. There are 3 diseases to choose from: bacterial, viral or parasitic – each, of course, with various different infection rates and specific attributes. Then you must decide what your disease does. Although there are a whole host of toxic options available to you, to help grow and expand your disease, you are only allowed to initially spend 8 EvoPoints, so be wise with your choices. Rushing never did anyone any good!
Any key things to know about Pandemic 2.5?
‘EvoPoints?’ We hear you cry. Think of these as in-game currency. As you begin to spread your disease by moving across territories and wiping out populations, you will be rewarded EvoPoints. These are required in order to help you grow and evolve your disease by “paying for” additional supporting attributes that will help it spread, such as better endurance, higher resistance and other lethal elements of that nature. The more EvoPoints you have in your pocket (/bottom of your screen), the more civilians you can eradicate from this planet. Now you are the ultimate villain.
So, what do we think about Pandemic 2.5?
In summary, fast paced it is not, however go by the old adage ‘good things come to those who wait’ and Pandemic is a fantastic game that relies on strategy (and patience!). It is a waiting game that requires you to spend much of your time watching the infection grow and spread and waiting for more lucrative EvoPoints to allow you to move forward in the game. So, if you are in the market for a slightly slow but strategic game to get your teeth into Pandemic is a great and compelling download. No more Mr. Nice guy.
