Apple is continuing its trend of new inventions with the latest being the unveiling of a 12.9” iPad Pro display with such fashion as a “reality distortion field”. The company’s first ever big announcement comes after a series of speculated arrival of an iPad Pro.
Having a large display of 12.9”, the new iPad Pro still retains the 4:3 aspect ratio, but the latest tablet has the same width as that of iPad Air. With the much larger footprint, iPad Pro is believed to offer even greater productivity with its iOS meant to improve the multitasking support plus its split screen function. The split screen function is also meant for watching movies and TV shows as well as gaming.
With its high capacity, Apple has endowed with it a lot more processing power. According to Apple, the newly unveiled A9X SoC is 1.8 times faster than most average desktop class processors. The inbuilt GPU is two times faster than a console one, which in common knowledge, is slower than the high-end GPUs that are found in gaming computers and which are still impressive nonetheless.
The bolder claim that Apple still recounts is that the A9X SoC chip is the fastest ever known to man. In fact, they hold that the chip tops most laptops released over the past year in terms of efficiency and processing speed. Combined with software from Adobe, Microsoft, iMovie and Autodesk, the newly unveiled iPad has the capacity to edit videos and clips in a movie, the same way you would in a MacBook Pro.
Specs aside, having a keyboard in place could probably be the best idea for any iPad Pro user for with this, productivity is sure to improve. This is something that surface users have acknowledged prompting Apple to take note of. The new iPad Pro features a fully optimized software keyboard and an optional cover that could serve as a keyboard as well. The keyboard alone costs a hefty $169.
Apple’s claim to have nailed it on the side of usability could earn some credit given the long time they have taken to work on the latest product. Albeit, being their first attempt, it could be disastrous to stage for early celebrations.
The New iPad Pro weighs in at 1.57 pounds which is almost the same weight of the original iPad that was launched five years ago. With a thickness of 6.9 mm, iPad Pro is believed to be pretty thin, with Air 2 believed to be the thinnest with 6.1 mm thickness.
The New iPad Pro comes with a pencil as its second hardware accessory. This means that you get a pen input just like in Galaxy Note phablets or in Surface Pro. Other notable aspects of the new iPad Pro is its 10 hour battery life, TouchID, 8MP Camera, audio system and a Wi-Fi AC capable that has an option for 150Mbps LTE.
Shipping costs starts at $799 for a 32 GB, $949 for 128 GB Wi-Fi model while the LTE-Capable 128GB model costs $1079. With the new iPad Pro, there could be no better experience.
