These days, with all the every day stress we face, it seems almost impossible to keep track of our diets and managing our weights. Obesity is an epidemic that isn’t going away anytime soon, but with this great, free app, there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel.
My Fitness Pal is a free app that can be used on any smartphone or Apple Product. It’s a really well-thought out and simple application that can be used via a wireless device or even on the computer. The creators of My Fitness Pal accommodate to fit into your schedule and body. This is not a one-size-fits-all diet plan, as so many are. My Fitness Pal is personal, calculating your BMI and figuring out how many calories you can have per day and helping you set realistic goals.
Nutritionists often recommend that people who are attempting to lose weight should keep a “food diary.” My Fitness Pal goes along with that idea, creating an easy way for you to “log” your food, calculating your calories per day. For every calorie you burn, you receive extra calories.
As if to make it easier, there’s an ever-expanding database of foods and their nutritional information. For example, let’s say you like to eat at Tijuana Flats or you’re a caffeine addict who has a daily Starbucks; type in the company’s name and a list of options will appear, along with calorie information, at first glance, taking all the guess-work out of the equation!
Obviously, the reason you’re supposed to log your food is to notice your eating habits and change them. My Fitness Pal is not going to come to your house and empty your fridge or cupboards and replace the junk with healthy food, you have to change your habits yourself. But don’t misunderstand, you can still enjoy all your favorite treats…like those drool-worthy cookies your mom makes during the holiday season.
My Fitness Pal is a brilliant application for anyone trying to lose some weight (or inches). It’s free, so give it a try! You may find that the only thing you’re down is a few jean-sizes.

Wow this sounds like a nice fitness app. I also do reviews on my own site so I might write one up regarding this one soon.
