Icomania Review

From the creators of 4 Pics 1 Word and Paint for Friends comes the latest quiz and puzzle game, IcoMania! This game is available for Android and iOS devices– iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Similar to its sister game, 4 Pics 1 Word, this game presents you a picture, in the form of an icon, and you have to determine what the answer is. If you like to keep up to date on pop culture, then this game is definitely for you. Icomania Answers include everything from TV shows, characters, film, music, brands and more.

This game will make you laugh, smile, and even reminisce, as characters and famous people from your childhood are brought up along with popular tabloid celebrities. Examples of answers include everything from Johnny Depp, the Hangover, Steve Jobs, and Ebay. The answers range from easy to difficult, and you are able to ask for clues in the form of letters being taken out of the keyboard or the answer space. If you happen to get the answer wrong or misspell it, it will flash the answer in bright red until you correct it. What is enjoyable about this game is that it is easy to use and play on-the-go, and doesn’t require any bothersome tutorial or fee to install. This quiz game is the most recent of the logo, puzzle genre, and is very similar to the app games Logos Quiz, Icon Pop Quiz, and 4 Pics 1 Word. Some of the answers are even the same in the games, just with a different picture representation.

There are a couple kinks that should be worked out in the game updates, however. For example, while playing, the user can only go from one answer to the next after she or he has completed that answer. This means that if you are stuck on one answer, you are…stuck. You cannot go onto the next answer or level until you complete the picture that is presented before you. What is different about a game such as Icon Pop Quiz, is that you can select the pictures you want to answer first, and go back to the ones that you need a little more time on. That way you are not stuck at one answer for hours on end. And, although you can ask for hints via Facebook or Twitter, you are not awarded hints with background info or details pertaining to the picture presented before you.

Currently there are 134 different answers and levels for this game, although updates should be out soon. We recommend this game for puzzle and quiz lovers, such as ourselves, and we figure it will only improve with time.
