Hanging with Friends is Zynga’s new application for Android and iPhone. Hanging with Friends is similar to the classic game of hangman. Build words for your friends to guess, and watch their attempts using instant replay. Then guess your opponent’s word using your lifelines or hints.
Hanging with Friends Tips – Building Words
- Gain more lifelines including suspects, extinguish and revive, by using two devices. Create two different users, and play a game against yourself. You will guess the word every time, gain points and coins quickly, and gain more lifelines to use in other games. Or find a friend who wants to cheat too, and tell each other your mystery word in the chat feature.
- When creating words use tiles with the highest value. Letters Z, Q, X, J, V, K will give you more points for coins. Always try to land on a double word, double letter, triple word or triple letter tile.
- Try not to use the same letter in one word when creating a word. Using the same letter in one word makes the puzzle easier for your opponent to guess. It may make your word longer and increase your score, but resist the temptation.
- Use as few vowels as possible. Your opponent will most likely guess vowels first.
- Believe it or not, short words are harder to guess than longer words. You have a higher chance of guessing a correct letter in long words.
- Short words that are similar to many other words are very hard to guess. (e.g. Silk, Milk, Bilk)
- Since the last vowel of the word is always given to your opponent, ending your word in a vowel will reveal the least amount of information.
Hanging with Friends Tips – Guessing Words
- The most common consonants are R S T L & N
- Work from end to start, beginning with the last vowel you are provided
- Wait until the end of the round to use your lifelines
- When E is the second to last letter in the puzzle, the last letter is probably D, R or S
- Remember that everything to the right of the last vowel provided is a consonant
- The word will probably not have 3 or more consonants in a row.
- The letters C H and W are very popular choices for word building. They are high value point tiles and fit into many words. The letter Y is also popular since it isn’t counted as a vowel and is 3 points.
- Suspects lifeline is the best lifeline to use in Hanging with Friends.
