Wyckoff is the same guy that brought you Stay In the Line and Avoid the Circles. Dot Jump is the latest in his series of stripped-down skill games. The goal of Dot Jump is very simple. You control a small green dot that has to jump on a rotating circle. There’s a peg on the circle, though. If your dot hits the peg, it’s game over. You score points according to how long you can stay alive.
If Dot Jump sounds easy to you, you’re dead wrong. The peg is incredibly annoying and changes speed all the time. One wrong tap and you’re history. You’re just lucky that we’ve got your back. Read on for a beginner’s guide to Dot Jump.
Dot Jump Cheats and Tips
Get Into a Rhythm
- Just like in all those tapping games like Flappy Bird, the key to Dot Jump is finding a good rhythm.
- Begin tapping when the peg is far away from you. This will give you more time to figure out the pattern to its speed changes.
Time Your Jumps
- You have to find a “sweet spot” to clear the peg safely with each jump. Remember that the speed will always be changing.
- At high speeds, you just need to constantly jump to avoid the peg.
- Slower speeds are actually tricker, because it’s easy to jump at the wrong time and land right on the peg.
Red Means Danger
- Once you hit a score of 50, the circle will disappear and the background will change.
- The peg will be much tougher to avoid, and will go much faster.
- Be careful not to get too excited! You might accidentally tap an ad, and then the game will be over.
