Castle Story is a new simulation game by TeamLava. In Castle Story you assume the role of ruler (Lord or Lady) as you design and maintain your own personal kingdom. As Castle Story ruler you will develop majestic landscapes of buildings, gardens, and decorations. You will tend to animals, citizens, craft items and complete kingdom goals. With this Castle Story walkthrough, Cool Apps Man provides a guide with tips, hints, answers, information and instructions to ruling your Castle Story kingdom with pride.
Castle Story Walkthrough & App Guide
When you begin playing Castle Story by TeamLava, your tutorial guide “Baron Garland Pfeffernot” will run you through a brief tutorial on how to play the game. In this brief tutorial you will learn how to build buildings from the market, collect rewards, water plants and go fishing, tend to animals, gather resources, craft items, and complete goals. You will learn the basic strategy of Castle Story and tips to advance to the next level.
Castle Story Currency
The more you build and collect while playing Castle Story, the most status and wealth you will gain. The currency in the Castle Story game includes gold coins, experience stars, royal points and energy.
- Castle Story Coins – Gold coins are the basic currency of Castle Story. With gold coins you can purchase buildings, decorations, expansion of the kingdom, and other resources. Each time you complete a goal or collect rent from one of your buildings you will receive a number of coins. You are given 20,000 gold coins to start, and you can always check the currency indicator at the top of the screen to see how many coins you have.
- Castle Story Gems – Gems are the premium currency of Castle Story. With gems you can speed up completion of various Castle Story goals, purchase special buildings that have higher payouts, and extra energy needed to play the game. You are given 20 gems to start, and can purchase more gems as in-app purchases starting at $0.99.
- Castle Story Experience Stars – Experience points determine your level in the game, indicated as the blue star in the top left corner of the team. Collecting rent and completing goals awards you experience stars, which makes you one step closer to leveling up and unlocking more Castle Story items.
- Castle Story Royal Points – Royal points make your Castle Story kingdom more valuable and eligible for expansion. Placing particular walls and towers in your kingdom will earn you royal points.
- Castle Story Energy – You must have energy points in order to play Castle Story. Without energy (orange lightning bolt) you will not be able to build building, gather resources, collect rent, or complete any other Castle Story goal. Every time you complete a quest it will cost you one energy point. You can purchase more energy as an in-app purchase, or you can wait until the energy restores itself. Every time you level-up in Castle Story your energy level will be restored to maximum capacity.
Castle Story Kingdom Goals
The blue book on the left side of the screen brings you to the Kingdom Goals menu. The Kingdom Goals menu shows you the tasks you must complete to advance levels in the Castle Story game. Completing these goals will award your coins and experience stars to help you level-up and purchase items. Following the game goals is the best way to reap the most awards, as opposed to following your own course.
Some Castle Story Kingdom goals include constructing buildings, harvesting crops, maintaining your animal farm, visiting other kingdoms, and helping your citizens. You may need to gather resources such as wood and stone in order to complete kingdom goals. Tap trees to gather wood, sap, or other special items, and rocks to gather stone, ore, or other special items to be put in your inventory. You can also gather resources by tapping wells, ponds, and watering flowers. All the items collected will go into your inventory and will be crucial in helping you complete the kingdom goals.
Castle Story Market
In the bottom right corner of the screen you will find the market menu. Castle Story Market features several categories – featured, buildings, decorations, nature, inventory, and expansion.
- Featured – Special items only purchasable by gems that will grant more coins and experience points.
- Buildings – Purchase royal, craft, town and other buildings.
- Decorations – Purchase decor items to receive experience stars and royal points.
- Nature – Purchase animals.
- Inventory – Check your inventory to find all your collected rewards.
- Expand – Expand your kingdom to construct more buildings, gather more materials, and unlock more items.

I’ve been playing Castle Story since it came out. I’ve been stuck on the Sir Pigglesworth goal for over a year now. I found the Nugget and Egg quickly, but I have yet to see the Apple. I’m on level 23, I bought the apple tree with gems almost immediately and have maxed out my apples 3 times. I expanded to the Magic Garden, like some people saying they’ve gotten the Apple from there, but I haven’t seen it yet. Does anyone else know how the hell the Apple is going to show? I’ve been on my game several times every day for over a year, always checking my apple tree and the garden, and no Golden Apple. WTH?
Tweetyltwg says
Golden apples are only from apple trees, it took me two weeks tending the apple tree when it finally gave me an Golden Apple. These are rare, but keep on tending the apple tree, it will drop an Golden one sooner or later.

I did get the golden apple, almost as soon as I got the apple tree. It was about the third thing to fall. Yeah for me. Sorry you are having so much trouble. I can’t seem to get any expansions.

Try harvesting apple when golden rays are shining
LadyWade says
How does one increase their energy level, to surpass 30 possible energy? When I open the game it will always max out to 100, but after a few moments it returns to 30.

I can’t find anyone to tell me how to find other players storm id’s so I can invite them to be my neighbors. also, it shows that several people have visited my kingdom and that I have messages but how do I retrieve my messages?? please help
Anonymous says
Can someone tell me where is the three lady? I need to reach my goal for the poison shop.
Anonymous says
Post your storm Id on their walls and ask them to add you
Jessica says
When I need something like sap, what should I do to tell my neighbors that I need sap but without writing in their wall?you get me how can I send them a message and let it appear in their wall like ( hdjdbd needs you to sent sap ) I want to know the steps and what to do??
Emmanuelle says
Sap comes from trees. If you don’t have any, buy some. Save your requests for the impossible stuff — like glimmer dust. (You can’t make that!)
Lo says
Yes you can.. Glimmerdust provides from mushrooms sometimes 😉
Sabzy says
U cannot buy sap, u can only harvest that from trees or ur sawmill. Lastly, it can be given to you by neighbors & friends.
Hayley says
Jessica I understand what you mean, but you can’t do that unless it’s part of a quest. Like if you have a quest that says “Ask neighbours for … blah blah blah” and you click on the button that says ASK, then it will get sent to your neighbour saying “hdjdbd needs blah blah blah”. BUT if you just need extra sap or something, if you want a neighbour to send it as a daily gift you either have to write on their wall and ask, OR gift it to them and maybe they’ll get the hint and gift it back. Hope this helped! 🙂

When playing castle story it’s always telling me to download more games and reach those levels when I just want to play castle, is there a way to stop this?
Anonymous says
Downloading and playing those games will bring you a lot of free gems though, which you otherwise have to pay real money for.
Emmanuelle says
The only way to stop them from popping up is to download them. Teamlava wants you to download all their games. If you’re short on gems, you can download them for a reward in each of their games. Otherwise, you’ll just have to keep clicking cancel.
Eli says
It’s glittery because someone visited your kingdom and helped out (when you visit someone’s kingdom, there are a few hearts over the buildings, if you click on the heart, then you’ve “helped out.” When you collect from a sparkly building, you get a bonus. 🙂 although I guess it wouldn’t work with the storage cellar.
Traci says
Is there something you can do (tap on glittery areas) to make the glittery stop so others can tip(heart) you. On one of the other team lava games, you must tap on the glittery areas to open those areas back up so you can be tipped.
Heather Golden says
Hi I’ve been trying to figure out why the storage cellar in castle story is glistening ?
