Nomino is a brand spanking new game that has the potential to change the way we share our photos and videos. At it’s core the game is essentially a quiz game based on viewing and listening to something. However, upon further inspection you will see that the game offers so much more to it’s users and players.
When you first open the game you will be prompted to create a profile with a user name and picture. You’ll then be brought to to a home screen with featured questions and riddles on a slider. But the gaming platform really opens up once you use the side bar and select the find tab. From there you will be shown endless timeline of user submitted questions which you can try and answer for points. The questions range from basic pop culture questions to scavenger hunts where you need to find something and snap a picture to pretty much whatever the user can think of.
And therein lies an obvious problem with Nomino. Since the platform is largely based on user submitted material, you are going to be given some outright impossible and possibly ridiculous questions. For instance, you may come across a picture of someone’s dog and you will be asked “What is my dog’s name?”. Of course answering that question is next to impossible unless you know that person.
Problems aside, this social media quiz game has the potential to be something quite fun and addictive, especially when you factor the marketplace. That’s right, those hard earned coins can actually be redeemed for actual prizes. Since the game is still in the beginning stages, the marketplace is bare. However, with further research I’ve seen that Nomino’s marketplace will include sponsored products such as DVD, gift cards, and even TVs.
Overall, it’s too early to forecast what Nomino actually is and will be. But I can tell you that the game is a pretty fresh and interesting take on quiz games, and the added incentive of prizes is most definitely awesome.
