You Don’t Know Jack, a trivia game popularized in the mid ’90s, has made a triumphant return to mobile platforms. The game retains most of, if not all, its former glory – inviting players to take part in seemingly endless rounds of comedic pop culture trivia. Previously the game has been seen on consoles, PC’s, and television.
The mobile version of You Don’t Know Jack brings players together, and asks them odd trivia questions. After the question is asked, the players then receive a set amount of time to answer, and when the time runs out the correct answer is revealed. How many points you earn, or in this case how much money the player “receives” (be warned, you won’t actually win money by playing this game), is dependent on two things:
- How quickly you answer
- Whether or not you were correct
A wrong answer will lose the player money, a correct one will gain them money – even more so if they answer the question quickly. Past the many multiple choice rounds, there are individual specialized rounds as well, rounds like “DisOrDat” where players are given two categories as different choices fly past the player. It’s up to the player to tap the correct category for the choice to go into. Another special round – the final round – is “Jack Attack”. It’s similar to “DisOrDat”, but the player is shown on subject instead of two. Choices will fly past the player once more, and the player must tap the choice that best relates to the central topic.
You Don’t Know Jack has been around for just over fifteen years, and it seems obvious that a move to mobile platforms would ensure their place in the digital gaming world
