101 Little Riddles TIp #2: Think Outside the Box
- The most important part of solving riddles is to avoid taking the question too literally. Are there are multiple meanings for any words in the riddle?
- In the example below the keyword is “key.” A key that doesn’t open a lock could be on a keyboard or a piano.
- Let’s try another example of this concept. In the level shown below, you need to concentrate on the word “stories.” While you might think that “stories” must mean “floors,” it can also mean the things you find in a book. The answer is “library.”
- Other levels may require you to think of different spellings for words that sound the same. Try reading the riddle out loud to yourself. Mull over each individual word.
