What’s Tom Daley Dive 2012 all about?: With the 2012 Olympics Games drawing closer each day, many have been inspired to try a new exercise regime in an attempt to become fit. Why bother with the gym when you have the ability to partake in an energetic sport which requires skill and precision…in app form? Give your thumbs a workout instead. Work your way through tournaments, mastering dives and unlocking new ones as you go, in an array of different locations to earn full scores from the judging panel. Other features also become accessible the further you go.

How does Tom Daley Dive 2012 work?: Using gesture-controlled diving simulation, you execute various parts of the dive by following visual instructions shown at the bottom of the screen.  There are tutorials for each dive and a CGI Tom to show you what you should aim to achieve on the diving board. After a few practice and training sessions, you are ready for tournament level.

Any key things to know about Tom Daley Dive 2012?: There are several camera angles to choose from so if you can’t perfect your technique from one view, you can just switch to another for optimum effect. You can also watch your dive in slow-motion to pinpoint where improvement can be made, or just to marvel at your amazing diving skills. Not all the dives are available on the free version, however, but to access them all it only costs $0.99 as an in-app purchase, which pops up when you try to access a paid-for dive. What Cool Apps Man found a little strange is the reward of Tom Daley photos. These beauty shots would only really appeal to tween obsessives who wouldn’t necessarily be the target market for a diving app.

So, what do we think about Tom Daley Dive 2012?: One of a whole slew of recent sport-themed apps, Tom Daley Dive 2012 is a cut above most with amazing graphics, content and features up for exploring. There is the added attraction of the main character being Olympic poster boy Tom Daley, a fact which will draw in swooning girls who want to make him dive for their pleasure. Tom recently turned 18, but sadly there are no rounds where he dives off the balcony in Magaluf on a boys’ holiday, drinks sambuca till he vomits, or flexes his muscles to impress as many girls as possible in a night out. Sadly, this would have been a more entertaining game, but the normal version is still enjoyable and highly addictive.
