SmashHit Tips & Tricks
SmashHit tips, tricks, and walkthroughs for the most high-octane version of pinball you've ever experienced! Make your way through gorgeously rendered digital environments and destroy them as you go! SmashHit is available for all mobile devices, including iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and Android phones and tablets. Break on through to the other side, and then keep breaking as far as you can go! If you're not experienced with wholesale destruction, or if you're just having trouble figuring out what to shatter first, read on for our exclusive tips and tricks. In SmashHit, you're in the driver's seat as you seek to penetrate a treacherous maze of corridors that contain traps and barriers at every turn. The object, of course, is to get as far into the complex as possible. You'll do this by firing your arsenal of metal balls into all that stands in your way. Breaking pyramid-shaped crystals scattered throughout the game will replenish your ammunition, and additional power-ups are also available, but rare (like the coveted "unlimited balls" booster). If you've got the reflexes of a cornered tiger and the destructive capabilities of a bull in a china shop, you'll be fine--but otherwise, go to the next page for the official Cool Apps Man guide to SmashHit!
SmashHit Tip #1: Smash Every Crystal
- Each crystal will get you 3 new balls to play with. That's a net gain of 2 balls per crystal.
- These are the only reliable ways to get more ammo, so it's essential you concentrate on smashing as many crystals as humanly possible.
SmashHit Tip #2: Watch Out for Stationary Barriers
- The majority of obstacles in the game are unmoving, and must be destroyed before you crash into them.
- A crash will cost you 10 whole balls--which is obviously disastrous! If you want to beat the leaderboards, fire early.
SmashHit Tip #3: Keep an Eye Out for Doors
- By far the most annoying obstacle are doors, which can only be opened by hitting the mechanism above them with a ball.
- If you wait too long, the opening mechanism will be out of the frame of your screen and you'll be forced to crash. As soon as you see a door approaching, fire above it! This is not a drill!
SmashHit Tip #4: Don't Waste Ammo
- Balls can be hard to come by in later levels, so only fire at obstacles you really need to remove.
- Remember, you're after distance, not points. You won't get extra credit for destroying absolutely everything around you.
SmashHit Tip #5: Grab Power-Ups Quickly
- Power ups are incredibly valuable, and you'll be kicking yourself if you miss one. The one pictured above will allow you to fire unlimited balls for a period of time, making you functionally untouchable.
- When you get on of these, just hold down your finger and swipe it back and forth across the screen while the effects last.
SmashHit Tip #6: Keep Track of Your Balls
- The number at the top of the screen represents how many balls you have remaining. If you're nearing or under 10, you need to ration your ammo.
- Gauge whether or not moving obstacles are going fast enough to hit you. If they aren't, ignore them and just wait for another crystal to come along. Discretion is the better part of destruction.
