Hunger Games: Girl on Fire App Review and Rating

Hunger Games: Girl on Fire app by Lions Gate Films Inc is a mediocre iOS application to pay tribute to such an epic film (pun intended). As you play Katniss Everdeen in Hunger Games: Girl on Fire, you must avoid the deadly tracker jacker wasps you encounter after escaping into the woods.  These Capitol-created tracker jackers will sting Katniss into a blue haze, launch balls of pink venom, and shield themselves with crystal diamonds. Download APP [accordion][panel title="Tracker Jackers"]To kill the tracker jackers, Katniss must shoot the wasps with her bow and arrow.  Tap on the tracker jacker wasps to shoot the bow and arrow and kill the wasps.  To dodge the tracker jackers' pink venom you must jump up and down between the ground and the treetops.  Swipe your finger up or down to move Katniss out of the way of the tracker jackers's pink venomous balls of fire.[/panel] [panel title="More Tracker Jackers"]The more tracker jackers you kill the more hostile and numerous they become. Once you have killed and dodged enough tracker jackers to collect a certain amount amount of points, you begin to lead Katniss back home to District 12. As you get closer to District 12, you will face the evil Capitol hovercrafts.[/panel][/accordion] Hunger Games: Girl on Fire app is complete after two levels.  First you shoot and dodge the tracker jackers, then the Capitol hovercrafts, and then you have beaten the game.  The graphics and gameplay are very simplistic.  Katniss dies after she is shot only twice, which happens frequently and brings you back to the beginning with zero points.  All of these factors make the application quite disappointing for a Hunger Games fan.  Since the application contains only two levels and makes it so easy to die, it can become very frustrating very quickly.  However, it is surprisingly addictive and I think I'll hold onto it for times that I'm extremely bored and want to play a brainless game. Hunger Games: Girl on Fire app is intended to be a movie promo and unfortunately is little more.  The main menu provides extras including links to buy tickets on Fandango and MovieTickets, watch the trailer, grab the ringtone, visit the website, buy the soundtrack, become a citizen, and play the Hunger Games Adventures Facebook game.  The application is free, so you might as well download it and try it out for yourself.
