Despicable Me: Minion Rush for Android, iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad is one of the most popular apps worldwide right now. This app, designed by GameLoft (responsible for games like Modern Combat 4, Uno and Little Big City), is an incredibly addicting multi-level racing game. In stage one, you have to swerve through the factory and defeat Vector. In stage 2, your minion is finally free! Now that you're outside, you'll be dodging traffic--cars and buses. Your route will even take you through people's backyards and houses! GameLoft does a great job of maximizing the usability of the tap function. You have to flick upwards to jump over objects, flick downwards to crouch yourself under rays or blockades. At some points, yur minion will find itself on a slide and you'll need to use your phone as a steering wheel. There is one object you are allowed to hit (in fact, it gives you bonuses!) and that's other minions. The game requires your complete attention, because other than being incredibly fast paced, the perspective of your gaming will also change! Sometimes, you'll be playing from the point of view of your minion and other times you’ll be watching your minion. The game is filled with various power-ups: you can buy ones (like shields, launchers, rockets) or also earn them in game. You can also change your minions costume to earn bonus advantages. There are options for in-app buys. Either you can use your bananas as currency or tokens. Tokens can be earned in game but not easily--you can buy bundles for 200 for $2. Don't forget to connect to Facebook, it'll earn you 50 tokens! There are also gift codes--although all the ones now listed online have been discontinued by Minion Rush.
